2026-Now: Ecomuzeul Poarta Carpaților, Moieciu de Sus, Brașov

Ecomuzeul Poarta Carpaților is a cultural and educational project initiated by the Centre for Mountain Ecology (CEM) in partnership with the Nomad Ecovillage Association. Located in Moieciu de Sus, at the gateway to the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains, the ecomuseum celebrates the natural and cultural heritage of the Bran-Moieciu-Fundata region through interactive exhibitions, thematic nature trails, traditional crafts, and educational programs.

More than a museum, Ecomuzeul Poarta Carpaților is a community-driven initiative, developed with and for local residents as well as the international nomad community. It serves as a living space where people from diverse backgrounds come together to celebrate, preserve, and learn from the natural and cultural heritage of the Carpathians.

The ecomuseum is a living space where natural and cultural heritage come together, and where the past, present, and future of the community are woven into a shared story. Through its activities and initiatives, the ecomuseum promotes biodiversity conservation, preserves mountain traditions, strengthens local identity, and inspires a deeper connection between people, nature, and the places that define them.

2020-2025: Odăiță, Moieciu de Sus - CLOSED

High in the mountains, we nurtured a beautiful dream: an off-grid cottage with a windmill and solar panels, tucked away among breathtaking views and endless skies.

The winters were harsh, and every visit meant carrying supplies up the mountain, but our spirits were light as we dreamed aloud about what could it become. For a while, it felt possible.

However, as it always happens, reality revealed itself, the illusion faded, and with it, that particular dream. Yet even as it ended, it left us with memories, lessons, and the courage to dream again.

2020-2023: Nomad Ecovillage, Sohodol Village - CLOSED

A group of friends came together to build an ecological community in Sohodol Village, near Bran, Romania. Although we did not manage to create the community we had dreamed of, together we created a beautiful glamping place that brought people, nature, and meaningful experiences together. We shared life's adventures, celebrated love, navigated heartbreak, and grew through countless experiences together.

Through it all, one thing remained constant: our friendship. We learned that home is not a place, but the people you trust and respect. Wherever we go and whatever we create together, becomes magical. In the end, we found more than a community; we found each other, we found our tribe.
